Winemaker's Notes

Through the years, Ravenswood has had the good fortune of working with amazing vineyards. But among the many are a few that stand high above the rest for the one-of-a-kind character they display. They're so special, you wouldn't dare blend them. And just like the people that own and farm them, they have their own distinct personalities, moods and auras.

Flavors of blackberries, raspberries, allspice, and vanilla. Varietals depend on year but generally close to 100% Zinfandel.

"Deep red. Dusty minerals accent bright redcurrant and wild strawberry on the nose. Zesty, sharply focused and pure, with bright red fruit and blood orange flavors firmed by crisp tannins. The clean, brisk finish shows sneaky persistence."
-International Wine Cellar

Nothing like a typical "good Zinfandel". It was light in color. rather bland in taste. Definitely NOT 92 points (should be more like 85 pts)

The atmosphere of Sonoma is decidedly laid back and down home country style. But in wines, they are keeping up with the...

Although it's not from America (Croatia has been named its origin), it does seem quite at home in the vineyards of California. During Prohibition, many Zinfandel vines survived as the high-yielding grape was popular both for home winemaking and communion wine, which is...
