Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Nadir (Syrah) is a generous, deeply-flavored wine loaded with dark cherries, underbrush, licorice, earthiness, herbs and sweet toasted oak. It is a pretty, accessible wine to enjoy over the next few years

Critical Acclaim

"Full and ripe with generous aromas of red berry and chocolate, Nadir (a 100% Syrah from Sicily) is a well-crafted wine with chewy, soft tannins and a rich texture. The wine is yielding and succulent with an impressive emphasis on its softness and roundness. It offers excellent value for your money."
