Rancho Zabaco Dry Creek Zinfandel 2001
Zinfandel
from Sonoma County, California
winemaker's notes:
If you're big Into Zin! This is a classic, boldly styled Zinfandel, and is not for the faint of heart.
The Rancho Zabaco Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel is big and chewy with concentrated, explosive blackberry and boysenberry fruit flavors framed with spicy oak. For the ultimate "Zin-Fan", this wine is complete with huge black pepper spice and an impressive structure that carries it to a full finish. This Zin tames seasoned and grilled meats, while beef, lamb and heartier pork dishes provide the perfect match.
"A brisk and delicious Dry Creek zin, this balances young-vine suppleness and brightness with old-vine spice (20 percent comes from 60-year-old vines). It tastes beautifully ripe, the dense richness grown from healthy grapes. Enjoy its freshness with smoked baby back ribs."

Was looking for a wine to accompany a Puerto Rican dish (Pernil-a heavily spiced pork roast). Found this wine to be great with the Pernil and delicious on its own. Open a bottle and enjoy the compliments from the in-laws.
