winemaker's notes:

Mid-reddish brown to amber at the rim. Aromatic raisiny/floral scents/hint of spirit. Initial sweetness and raisiny flavours linger to reveal complex hints of honey and lemons. Some rancio character. Underlying structure of tannin and well-integrated spirit. Finish is long and the honeyed flavours return and linger.

Muscat can be an interesting match for a range of fruit desserts and puddings; also good with soft, ripe blue cheeses and nuts.

I'm sorry but I will not join the bandwagon as concerned this rather syrupy single note sticky. Please, don't get me wrong. I am a great lover of port, Madeira, and a variety of other sweet and or fortified wines. I simply think that this is a poor example. It is terribly heavy, and is overwhelmed by an almost molasses like character. I think it interesting to note that Wine Enthusiast describes the wine as full-bodied with darker hints of dates and molasses, while Wine Spectator describes it as bright and sweet. Well, I can at least agree with the molasses comment.

Absolutely stellar! Very rich and complex. Smoky/earthy gives way quickly to toffee/caramel and other rich flavors. What a treat! One of the best Muscats we've tasted.
