RH Phillips Toasted Head Chardonnay 2001

Taste Bright tangerine and pear fruit aromas are highlighted by clove and nutmeg. This medium-bodied wine has a crisp acidity and long finish, with pear and toasty butterscotch oak flavors, and creamy texture. Vintage An excellent, if uneventful year, the 2000 vintage began with a mild, rainy winter followed by spring weather that commenced in February. Days were temperate and there was very little wind, perfect conditions for bloom and fruit set. Summertime highs held steady in the mid-nineties range, with nights in the upper fifties. Mild weather during harvest provided optimal picking conditions. Harvest began on August 24, with Brix between 23.5 degrees to 25 degrees F.
