Best approached with a whip and chair. Deeply concentrated and oozing with flavor, with tiers of chewy black cherry, blackberry, cedar, vanilla and salty, minerally notes. The brawny oak tannins are a bit raw, but the flavors linger. Petite Sirah. Drink now through 2007. 370 cases made. (JL)

This wine is incredibly intense. Just pouring the wine into the glass makes you think of ink. On the palate it is not your typical Petite Syrah...it is extracted and rich with a long lingering finish, nothing short of spectacular. From Carl Doumani's, former owner of Stags Leap Winery, favorite Petite Syrah vineyard he kept after selling Stags Leap.
