winemaker's notes:

This gift is the quintessential red wine sampler of six wines from the most famous winegrowing regions in the world. For the wine adventurer in search of bold flavors, taste these wines against one another to see how they compare. Each bottle has been chosen to represent the best example of red wine made in its particular region. You'll receive an Aussie Shiraz, Tuscan blend, California Zinfandel, Chilean Carmenere, Spanish Tempranillo and French Bordeaux.

  Not bad - 1/10/2008
I would buy this wine again

The wine selection was quite good if not necessarily the best value for the money. With shipping and taxes each bottle came out to slightly more than $20 while individually they can be purchased for under $20. It also included a California Bordeaux blend instead of a genuine one, I doubt you can get a decent one for around $20, but I would like to see them try. The montgras carmenere and, surprisingly enough, greg norman shiraz, were the highlights in my opinion, big, robust and fruity. Campo Viejo rioja, Cline zinfandel and tuttobene sangiovese merlot blend, were quite good, but less appealing to my palate, with more acidity and less body, especially in the case of tuttobene

I would not buy this wine again

If you like oaky wines with a high alcohol content, you may really enjoy this collection. If you are used to wines having the 14.5% alcohol level or the amount of oak that is typical of New World wines, you will find these familiar. The Italian and French wines were very nice. Could be a great gift for someone into the California style of wine.

Kosher
A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.

Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
