winemaker's notes:
The Black Muscat grape variety (also called Muscat Hamburg) has varietal character like lychee fruit with a rose component. Just smelling and tasting this wine makes one think of dessert. Elysium is a heavenly wine to enjoy with chocolate but also complements many other desserts and cheeses, especially blue cheeses such as gorgonzola. Elysium served with gorgonzola and ripe pears is an especially good combination. Pouring Elysium over vanilla ice cream results in a truly sybaritic Elysium Sundae.
Elysium is best served slightly chilled. Once the bottle has been opened, keep it in the refrigerator, corked. It will hold for a month.

A Customer - Florida
It was suggested by my doctor to drink a glass of red wine ever day. My knowledge of wines are very minimal, so I have relied on a wonderful local wine shop nearby and they have been helpful in my wine selections. I seem to enjoy wines that are a blend with other wines. I guess because I do not care for extremely dry nor overly sweet wines. A friend suggested that I try Elysium for it's level of sweetness. I found that this wine is very sweet and is not a wine to be served daily. If you want an after dinner wine, which is to be enjoyed as a dessert or with a dessert, then it is difinately for you. A dessert of fresh fruit or a dessert that is lite in taste will go greatly with Elysium.
