Primtivo is the first red grape picked in Italy. Even by the standards in Puglia, Primaterra has their growers pick early in the morning and just when the grapes are ready. Over-ripe primtitivo can be harsh. The results at Primaterra are a fresh, juicy, jammy wine with low alcohol. It shows flavors of dark, spiced cherry with an easy finish. It is great at backyard bbq' with burgers and it's perfect with pasta and pizza too.
Imaginative and inviting, Primaterra is Italian by design. Behind the label, each wine reflects the combination of soil, climate, and topography which define their Italian region of origin. The winemaking philosophy is simply to preserve the delicious flavors and aromas that result from the interaction between the grapes and the land. Distinctively fresh and fruit driven, the wines are styled to be enjoyed by everyoneon their own or with a meal, alone or with friends!
