Winemaker's Notes

Here's a silky 100% Sangiovese with just the right amount of spice and complexity--enchanting and invigorating. This family estate's excellent vineyards in and around San Gimignano deliver concentrated, rich fruit with loads of juicy power. Bright red cherries mix with baking spices, and the textbook "amaro" finish both cleanses and uplifts the palate. Lovely, round and rich--always our go-to Chianti.

Critical Acclaim

"The 2007 Chianti Colli Senesi is an absolutely joyous wine from one of Tuscany's lesser-known appellations. This dark, full-bodied Chianti possesses plenty of dark fruit in a soft, caressing style with no hard edges to speak of. Suggestions of tar, menthol and spices linger on the finish. This is an over achieving wine in the vintage as well as a great value. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012. "
