Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

60% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot.

Deep garnet red in color, this wine shows intense aromas of wild black cherry, minerals, licorice and sage with distinct notes of new vanillin oak. The full lush fruit palate is focused and complex, with firm yet integrated tannins and a lengthy elegant finish.

Critical Acclaim

"A generous blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet, this is round and velvety, delivering impressive aromatic intensity in the form of black cherry, ripe raspberry, spice, tobacco and dried rosemary. The finish is soft and long. Editors' Choice."
