Peter Lehmann Shiraz 2002
Syrah/Shiraz
from Barossa Valley, Australia
winemaker's notes:
The soils of the Barossa and its climate are ideal for producing full-flavoured, rich-fruited Shiraz wines capable of great longevity. Barossa Shiraz has become a unique Australian style... rich, full bodied with intense, concentrated fruit flavours.
The 2002 vintage is vying with the famous 1998 vintage as the greatest vintage of the last decade. It is certainly the best vintage of this century! Red wines from the 2002 vintage are proudly confident, stylish, concentrated and deep in colour.

Being new to drinking wine, I have found myself drinking it quite often with dinner and desert. I found this selection to be very tasteful and not over bold. The color was very nice and the taste was very smooth. There was no sour aftertaste as I have found with some. This selection was very reasonably priced and went well with my dinner which consisted of steak, salad, vegetables and even ice cream. Tasted great throughout the entire dinner.

Big bold tons of fruit and long finish. Should hold up to cellaring for few years, maybe more, great now. One of the best Shiraz I've had in this price range.
