The 2008 Mentor is a classic example of great Barossa Cabernet showing deep color, intense dark forest fruits and a firmly structured finish.
Mentor is an ideal accompaniment for rich duck, goose and game dishes. It is superb with oxtail, braised lamb shanks.
"Bright medium red-purple; a brand that has reinvented itself over its lifetime, originally matured in American oak, then a mix of French and American, the primary fermentation finished in that oak followed by 18 months maturation. It is a cabernet with real authority to its fruit, suggesting some or all comes from old vines in the Eden Valley as well as the Barossa Valley; it has length aplenty, and good balance."
