winemaker's notes:

The color is a deep brooding red/ black leading to a bouquet of dark chocolate and blood plums. The palate is rich and soft in keeping with the Eight Songs style and the finish features plush, fine grained tannins. The wine drinks beautifully now but can be cellared with confidence for a few more years if desired. We recommend decantering for a few hours before serving to allow the wine to open up.

This is a delicious wine - a big mouthfeel full of ripe berries and chocolate. Very plush, but balanced and a good kick of spice. This is a big, ripe wine, but with enough structure to hold up to food. A great by-the-fire wine or with some slow-roasted meats.
