winemaker's notes:
Clancys has rapidly established itself as a favourite with lovers of red wine. It is a blend which is destinctly Australia, in fact as Australian as Banjo Pattersons poetic hero from which the wine derives its name.
The 1997 Clancys, from what is revealing itself as a great year for Shiraz, is a wine with wonderful depth and structure. The blend of Shiraz 62%, Merlot 15%, Cabernet Sauvignon 12% and Cabernet Franc 11% means that the rich Shiraz characters shine and are given a stylish lift by the other great red varieties. It has beautifully integrated oak which gives just a whisper of wood smoke and finishes with firm but soft tannins.
A wine which is consistently good; a wine which says, ""Yes, do pour a second glass!""
