For over 20 years, Petaluma's Coonawarra has been predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, two of the best varietals from South Australia's renowned Coonawarra region.
The fruit for Coonawarra is sourced from two main sites, the Evans Vineyard and the Sharefarners Vineyard. The average age of vines at Petaluma's Evans and Sharefarmers Vineyards is in excess of 30 years and these hand pruned, close spaced, vertical canopy vines are naturally balanced at modestcrop levels of 5 tonnes/hectare of hand picked fruit.

I suspect that this will gain more complexity with age but it's awfully appealing right now."

There is a small strip of soil, about nine miles long and two miles wide, called Terra Rossa, or red soil/earth. It is the...Read More About Coonawarra
