Alcohol By Volume: 15.0%
Alcohol By Volume Guide
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
Aromas of ripe, dark mulberries, cassis and earth with a touch of Coonawarra mint, followed by a dense palate of medium to full body. Black cherry, mocha and cedar notes dominate with wonderfully fine yet supportive tannins. This wine will gain further complexity with time in the bottle.
"From Kym Tolley's estate on Coonawarra’s narrow band of terra rossa soil, this is a cabernet with clean lines and earthy refinement. The fruit is ripe, in a black cherry and blueberry mode; the alcohol is not shy. But the wine feels finely tailored, a style Tolley picked up, perhaps, from his earlier career at Penfolds."

Wine & Spirits
"Deep garnet; a dark personality filled with mocha, cassis and a brambly complexity; the palate is dense and chewy, dark and a little bitter, with the structure sitting atop the fruit; time should see this resolved."
