Alcohol By Volume: 15.0%
Alcohol By Volume Guide
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
A very complex and intense aroma, quite fresh and vibrant highlighting the characteristics
of the 3 grape varieties, violets and spice from the Merlot, cherry/savory aromas from the
Cabernet Franc and berry/earthy elements from the Cabernet Sauvignon. A very attractive
wine and a true reflection of balance, elegance and power.
"Bright colour; the promise of the fragrant red and black fruits on the bouquet comes to fruition in the mouth, juicy cassis fruit running through the long palate; high quality cork. Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Cabernet Franc."
Australian Wine Companion
"Glass-staining purple. Blackcurrant, cherry-vanilla, cocoa, potpourri and tobacco on the nose. Velvety, layered and plush, with a seamless texture to the full-bodied flavors of oak-spiced cherry and dark berries. The fruit overwhelms the oak notes on the finish, which is broad, sweet and extremely long. Very sexy, and balanced to age."
International Wine Cellar
"Supple, generous and complete, this harmonious wine plays its cherry, mint, cedar and spice flavors against a plush texture that has open, airy feel. This has character and finesse. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2014. 100 cases imported. "
"The 2006 Chertsey Cabernet Blend is made up of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, and 4% Cabernet Franc with the wine aged for 24 months in new French oak. Purple in color with an expressive nose of toasty oak, pencil lead, black coffee, black currant, and blackberry, on the palate this full-bodied wine reveals complexity and excellent balance. Bordeaux-like, elegant, and poised, it will continue to improve over the next 4-6 years and offer a drinking window extending from 2014 to 2026.
