winemaker's notes:
Penfolds Bin 2 Shiraz - Mourvedre was first produced in 1960. It is a uniquely Australian wine made predominantly from Shiraz, which in 1996 accounted for about 80 per cent of the blend. Penfolds Bin 2 is a soft, inviting wine with the Shiraz berry-fruit flavours complimented by a penetrating, spicy edge derived from the Barossa Valley Mourvedre.

This was my first taste of a Shiraz wine and I must say that it is bold. It has a full, wonderful flavor. I enjoyed what little of it I got. My guests were all over it!

A decent red. Smooth, well balanced. I liked it, though slightly too spicy for my taste. Good value for the price.
A Customer - Oregon
This is truly a find! I brought a bottle to a dinner gathering of wine enthusiasts (who are partial to Oregon Wines...) -- the "oohs and aahs" started before the bottle was opened. The rich smell, the rich, yet smooth taste, the tanginess! A wonderful blend - the Shiraz carries it, the Mourvedre enhances it wonderfully. Another fabulous Australian wine.
AND, it is on the 3 fo$21 special!
