Peller Estates Riesling Icewine (half-bottle) 2006
Other Dessert from Canada
Made of 100% Riesling. Fermented and aged at cool temperatures in stainless steel tanks for optimum fruit concentration. This wine has notes of ripe peach marmalade, layers of sweet and fresh tropical fruit, honey and hints of white pepper. The flavors are an explosion of pineapple, apricot, floral honey, oranges and cardamom spice with lemon drops and spicy oak to harmonize the long finish. Pairs well with pate or foie gras, blue veined cheeses and spicy Asian cuisine. Serve chilled at 8-10ºC.
Peller Estates Winery
The Peller Estates wine legacy began when Andrew Peller, an entrepreneurial Hungarian immigrant, founded a small winery in Canada more than 40 years ago. His dream was to offer Canadians world class wines produced from Canadian-grown grapes. He realized that dream, and passed it along to later generations. Today Andrew’s grandson, John Peller, oversees a state-of-the-art winery on the Niagara Peninsula on Lake Ontario. View all Peller Estates Wines

Alcohol By Volume GuideMost wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
