Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

This has an intense ruby red color, with both fruity and floral
notes, from the ripe red fruit to herbs. Soft, tasty, velvety at the same time, leaving a note of sweetness and roundness typical of ripe grape with a slightly dry and astringent closure that distinguishes the Nebbiolo.
"The 2008 Barbaresco Nubiola wafts from the glass with crushed flowers, sweet herbs, licorice and spices, all of which add complexity to the fruit. The Nubiola is deceptively medium in body. With time it fleshes out beautifully, showing terrific richness for the vintage. A firm, poised finish has the last say."
The Wine Advocate
"Nubiola is a pulpy, thickly concentrated Nebbiolo with brambly notes of forest fruit, moist earth, leather, spice and toasted hazelnut. The wine is still young, astringent and needs a few more years of cellar aging before it softens up."
"Good deep red. Expressive aromas of redcurrant, plum, tobacco, menthol and rose. Sweet, suave and lush but in need of a bit more inner-mouth clarity of flavor. Offers a good blend of sweetness, acidity and serious, building tannins but these elements need a few more years in bottle to come into better harmony.Rating: 91(+?)"

The King of Piedmont
Nebbiolo is the key grape in the wines of Barolo and Barbaresco. It is not the
most planted variety, but it does make the most distinctive and age-worthy wines. Native to

long been the honored red grape of Northern Italy...Read More About Nebbiolo
