Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.
Ratings Pedigree:

Winemaker's Notes

The wine is straw yellow in color, with greenish nuances, bright and well-defined. It is a voluptuous white wine with surprising bottle longevity preserving its citrus, fruity and floral fragrances of grapefruits, pears and white flowers. In the mouth it reveals its elegant personality, freshness and varietal character with a pleasant and well-defined texture. All through the mouth it displays a succulent feeling, adding a certain muscular structure balanced by a smooth-as-silk acidity with a persistent and lengthy finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Light yellow. Complex, floral-accented aromas and flavors of pear, candied citrus peel, herbs and ginger. Textured but taut, with strong mineral backbone and a penetrating, spicy finish. This will be very flexible at the table, or it could be drunk by itself."
