Wine Style Guide

Light & Fruity

Red wines that are more fruit-forward and lighter in tannin and body.

Smooth & Supple

Medium bodied reds that go down easy, with smooth tannins and supple fruit.

Earthy & Spicy

Wines where earthy and/or spicy dominate the flavors – typically medium to full body.

Big & Bold

Full bodied wines that have concentrated fruit and are higher in alcohol and/or tannins. Some need age.

Alcohol By Volume: 14.5%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Medium-bodied, this wine is a harmonious blend of flavors: wild berries, luscious cherries, and the spicy vanilla of toasted oak.

This wine is the unique expression of a carefully nurtured piece of land, made manifest in each bottle. We do without conventional pesticides and synthetic fertilizers, treating the soil as a living, life giving system. Our wine growing practices create special wines, and sustain the land. Critical Acclaim

"This hits the delicate side of pinot noir in it's scents of spring roses. of freshly turned earth and light hints of strawberries. The flavors are long, savory and bright. Why can't there be more wines in this style? Especially when there's duck confit salad on the menu."

I liked the fact that it was organic but it was too strong and bold for my taste, which I did not expect, but others might enjoy it a lot. Reasonable price for an organic wine.

nothing special really but like that it was organically and biodynamically grown. Held up well through third day.
