This Chateauneuf du Pape is a concentrated and supple, balanced wine. A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Counoise, it is brimming with dark berry fruit and notes of black pepper and dark chocolate. The wine offers a terrific bouquet and flavors of spices and cherry and berry jam. The sweet tannins and fat mid-palate culminate in a dense and powerful finish.
"The brilliant 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape is one of the finest basic cuvees of the vintage. Moreover, it usually sells for a realistic price. Its inky/purple color is accompanied by a beautiful perfume of camphor, sweet blackberry and black raspberry fruit, lavender, forest floor and acacia flowers. Full-bodied and rich with good acidity, ripe tannin and a long finish, it should drink nicely for 15 or more years. "

"This boasts toasted anise and linzer torte aromas, but also lovely drive and focus, as the raspberry, cassis and blackberry fruit is melded perfectly. Lingering apple wood and black tea notes add charm and length on the finish."

"Bright purple. Aromas and flavors of black raspberry, cola and spicecake. Pliant and open-knit, with gentle finishing grip and lingering notes of vanilla and lavender. Here's a 2010 that's showing a precocious side."
