Winemaker's Notes

From its creamy peach, tart green apple and cinnamon aromas to it more sophisticated notes of brioche, slate and earthy cedar, this wine offers enticing complexity. In the mouth, beautifully defined flavors of juicy white peach are supported by hazelnut and spice layers, as well as vibrant acidity that adds poise and freshness. At the same time, in keeping with the character of the 2009 vintage, this is an intense and mouthfilling expression of Zio Tony Chardonnay, with a seamless oak presence that adds subtle hints of flint, clove and cardamom.

Critical Acclaim

"Pale bright yellow. Apple, pear and spices on the nose, complicated by a leesy hazelnut quality that reminded me of Champagne. Concentrated, chewy and expressive, with a subtle savory quality to the dense peach and toast flavors. Finishes sexy and quite long, already conveying a lot of personality. An excellent showing."
