Winemaker's Notes

A true reflection of the stellar 2007 growing season, we think this is the best Hudson Vineyard – Carneros Chardonnay we have ever produced. Beautiful acidity lends a balancing freshness and lithe minerality to vibrant, juicy fruit elements of citrus peal, grapefruit, peaches and lightly poached pears. Fully integrated oak contributes a textural foundation and hints of clove that support this complex, multi-layered wine.

Critical Acclaim

"The exotic, flamboyant 2007 Chardonnay Hudson Vineyard possesses copious aromas of nectarines, caramelized orange, apricot marmalade, and creme brulee. Good acidity buttresses the wine-s full-bodied style with impressive power as well as richness."
93 Points

"Rich and flamboyant, with strong flavors of lemondrop candy, pineapple crème brûlée, vanilla, buttered toast and cinnamon spices. The texture is rich in buttercream, yet enlivened with crisp acidity. A delicious, exotic Chardonnay ready for drinking now."
93 Points

"Smooth, rich and creamy, this is full-bodied, focused and layered, offering ripe fig, melon and spicy, toasty oak. Ends with a complex, delicate mix of oak and fruit. Drink now through 2013."
