With a long, cool summer that promoted even ripening and ample hangtime, the 2010 growing season proved excellent for Burgundian varietals. In broad strokes, there is beautiful freshness to this wine, with clearly delineated vineyard character. At the same time, the modest crop size in 2010 has contributed to amazing concentration, spotlighting notes of spiced tropical peach, pear, honeydew, clove and narcissus. The mid-palate is vibrant and bright, combining delicate, mouthwatering acidity with rich fruit, all surrounded by subtle, oak-inspired notes of cinnamon, spiced toffee and roasted almonds.
"Subdued aromas of green melon and minerals complicated by a leesy suggestion of hazelnut. Fat, tactile and rich, but with firm acidity and underlying minerality leavening the wine's sweetness and energizing the mid-palate. Nicely rich and savory wine. "
