Gevrey Chambertin Aux Echezeaux is a lieu dit, a non-premier cru single vineyard. However, with its ancient vines, it has the intensity and structure of a premier cru. The 2000 vintage combines lovely fruit and toasty oak aromas with a load of red and black currant fruit on the palate. The tannins are round and smooth and the finish long and sweet. This bright and powerful wine will drink well for 5-7 years after bottling.
