Winemaker's Notes

The pineapple nose of ripe sauvignon. Tangy and sweet and sour on the palate, with baked apples. Round and silky fruit – ripe grapefruit, candied lemons and very tangy kumquat and star fruit. Anise on the finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Pale yellow-gold. Spicy, mineral-driven aromas of lime zest and lemongrass, with a sneaky note of honeysuckle gaining strength with air. Taut, mineral-laced citrus and pear flavors pick up a weightier, faintly honeyed quality in the middle and show a suave floral quality. Very complex now but this should be even better in another year or two. The finish is focused, brisk and very long."

Learn About Patient Cottat

Situated in the small village of Verdigny in the Sancerre region, the Fournier family has been making wine for many generations. The estate has grown from 5 hectares in 1950 to almost 30 hectares today, divided over the appellations of Mentou Salon, Pouilly-Fume and Sancerre. The improvement made in vinification techniques and the permanent concern about quality result in well-balanced wines of great diversity.
