Pascal Jolivet Sancerre 2006
Sauvignon Blanc
from Loire, France
winemaker's notes:
Pale, whitish straw in color. The nose is very fresh, very clean with notes of lime peel, green herbs, black currant; typical, not aggressive. On the palate it is fresh and tightly wound; acidity is tempered by very subtle residual sugar; very clean; alive, racy, youthful. Overall, a dry and elegant wine, well balanced. The different origin of soils express fully their differences and their similarities. Slow evolution, very typical Sancerre.
Food pairings: Sushi, soups, shellfish, salads, quiche, pork, fish, asparagus, Asian cuisine.

I bought this with the hope that it would be a good wine to have before dinner. It ended up being a good one for anytime, if you enjoy this kind of wine. I love the reds, and enjoy the whites. On the other hand my girlfriend loved this wine. I think it taste more like a chardonnay. Flavors of mineral, stone, grass and lemon grass. If you like light, semi fruity wine you will like this one.
A Customer - Sacramento
We served it with Chilean Sea Bass in a mushroom, butter, and white wine reduction sauce and it was great. It is a very smooth wine, especially considering it is made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape. It is a balanced wine that goes well with food, especially seafood.
