Alcohol By Volume: 14.3%

Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

A dark story needs a dark wine, which is why Owen Roe created this blend, typical of a traditional Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Aromas of spicy red hots, cinnamon and pine lead to a bursting mouth-feel of cassis, white pepper and granite. Fruity notes of raspberry and blackberry enhance this structured, firm tannin blend and finish with hints of rosemary and clove.

Blend: 63% Grenache, 19% Syrah, 16% Mouvedre, 2% Cinsault

Most wines from the Southern Rhone use Grenache as their...
