winemaker's notes:
Opus One thinned the 2002 vintage to the lowest per-acre yield in a decade, encouraging quality and concentration of flavors. The 2002 Opus One shows aromas of dried strawberry, vanilla bean and mocha with flavors of cassis, black cherry, plum and espresso. Offering a lean, vibrant entry with profound mid-palate density, the wine finishes with bittersweet chocolate and a hint of smoke.

A Customer - Montreal, Canada
I just returned today from a trip to Napa, where I tasted this incredible wine and it is such a pleasure drinking this that I had to purchase a bottle. With a fine and elegant finish this wine is simple but complexe at the same time. With aromas of vanilla, cassis, black cherry, and ripe red berry fruits, I recommend this bottle to anyone. It is surprising how the tannins are young but mellow. Now seeing this review, I understand why they scored it at 99!!
