Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

This 2009 Pinot Gris has aromas of subtle pear, stone fruit and honey. The sliver of sweetness on the palate is in harmony with the clean finish.

Critical Acclaim

"This off-dry Pinot Gris starts off with a touch of passionfruit and spice on the nose, then adds honeyed melon and pear flavors on the palate. The finish lingers, prolonged by pineapple-citrus notes."

Style: Light & Crisp
Light and bright yellow color. Well balanced acidity that keeps the subtle flavours from the nose. Another very nice wine from the Marlborough region in New Zealand.
