Olivier Leflaive Chablis Fourchaume Premier Cru 2004

Nose has very good intensity of ripe fruit; more reserved than straight Chablis, with highlights of lemon and minerals. The palate shows beautiful ripe fruit; full and lasting with gentle acidity; exceptionally clean, pure. The oak has no doubt added to the complexity but cannot be detected.

Food matches: Shellfish, pork, fish.

"The aromas and flavors are less fruit-oriented and more on the mineral, lanolin and gunsmoke side of the flavor spectrum. Hints of lemon and honey add complexity. A little austere, but intense and focused, with a long finish. Best from 2008 through 2018."
