Winemaker's Notes

An intense ruby color with hints of violets. An important feature of this vintage are the distinctive aromas displaying ripe red fruit such as cherries and plums, as well as its well known aromas of liquorice, anis and a touch of vanilla. Perfectly balanced with ripe, soft tannins and a long refreshing finish.

Critical Acclaim

"Vivid ruby. Blackberry, cherry-cola and violet on the nose, with slow-building smokiness. Spicy and palate-coating, offering sweet dark fruit flavors and exotic floral pastille notes. Becomes spicier with air and finishes a bit abruptly; I'd have liked a bit more concentration but this drinks very easily."

This subterranean environment achieves naturally low and stable temperatures for storage. The design...

The vineyards are protected by the Pacific on the west and the Andes mountains on the east. This could help explain why the climate changes more from east to west than north to south - also why the country has remained phylloxera free....

Perhaps that title is due to its ability to grow worldwide in a number of climates, or to the fact that it produces wine with such character yet such diversity. Either way, this grape is responsible, as a whole or a partner, for some of the greatest wines in the world. In Bordeaux,...
