Much of the fruit for our 2009 O'Reilly's Pinot Gris was harvested from sites in the Eola Amity Hills of Oregon. This region enjoys a temperate climate of warm summers and mild winters with 40 inches of annual rain, most of which falls outside of the growing season. This region's climate is greatly influenced by its position due east of the Van Duzer Corridor, which provides a break in the coast range allowing cool Pacific Ocean air to flow through. This causes the temperatures to drop dramatically in the region, especially during late summer afternoons, helping to keep grape acids firm. Perfect for Pinot Gris!
The 2009 O'Reilly's Pinot Gris is a classic Oregon Gris with plenty of lime and pear flavors that linger with a bright citrusy finish. Expect a crisp and forward wine loaded with great minerality.
