Alcohol By Volume Guide

  • 10%
  • 16+%
Most wine ranges from 10-16% alcohol by volume. Some varietals tend to have higher (for example Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon) or lower alcohol levels (Pinot Noir and many white varietals), but there is always some variation from producer to producer. Some wine falls outside of this range, for instance Port weighs in closer to 20%, while Muscat and Riesling are usually a bit below 10%.

Winemaker's Notes

Subtle glints of lime-blossom green, with delicate, abundant bubbles. The wine offers aromas of white flowers, such as hawthorn and acacia, as well as more subtle scents of citrus fruits, pears and even lime blossom. Very generous on the palate. Lively, fresh and powerful on the attack.

Critical Acclaim

"Light, bright yellow. Lime and grapefruit on the nose, with a touch of chalk adding complexity. Dry and nervy, with tightly wound citrus and underripe orchard fruit flavors and a kiss of bitter almond. The tangy, persistent finish offers very good racy vivacity."

Today, nearly 75% of Champagne...

Well, status for one - many vintage Champagnes are...
