Nicolas Feuillatte Blanc de Blancs 1999
Vintage
from Champagne, France
winemaker's notes:
The Brut Blanc de Blancs Vintage 1999 derives its strong personality from an exceptional terroir. This single grape variety wine is composed
of 100% Chardonnay, giving it elegance and delicacy. The vintage expresses the year's typical qualities and reveals the character of
the "terroir".
A selection of 20-50 single
crus are combined in this Cuvée. At Nicolas Feuillatte, the Vintage Blanc de Blancs ages for a minimum of 6 years, although the legislation
imposes a minimum aging period of only 3 years.
Subtle
pale green hue, with fine and abundant bubbles. The Chardonnay gives off mineral aromas, such as the chalk on which it thrives, or gratifies
us with some exotic flavors in more continental climates, including hints of flowers such as may blossom and acacia. You often may find some
more subtle scents too, like citrus fruit, pear or even lime blossom. The palate is full-bodied, lively, fresh, and strong.
