Les Pommiers captures aromatics of wild raspberry, black cherry, plum and floral notes that yield to mineral, spice and toasty oak. It has a juicy, coating entry, followed by more layers of raspberry and cherry fruit, and ripe, integrated tannins.
Les Pommiers draws its name from the apple orchards emblematic of the Russian River Valley's agricultural history. At once elegant and intense, Les Pommiers is the consummate blend of fruit from vineyards located primarily in the Green Valley and upper Middle Reach areas of the Russian River Valley AVA. The grapes are farmed according to organic principles and minimally handled at the winery. The wine is deftly shaped with a subtle combination of new and once-used French oak barrels.
"An ambitious first release. Shows authentically dry, crisp Russian River ripeness, with a vast array of black cherries, raspberries, Dr. Pepper cola and Asian spices, enriched with plenty of new French oak, and balanced with crisp acidity and ultra-refined tannins. Feels silky and impressive in the mouth."
Nickel & Nickel is devoted exclusively to producing 100% varietal, single-vineyard wines that best express the distinctive personality of each vineyard. Established in 1997 by the partners of Far Niente, the winery is based in Oakville, California, on the 42-acre John C. Sullenger vineyard property. Nickel & Nickel produces single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, but also makes single-vineyard Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel.

The Russian River is agricultural land. While there is a focus on wine, beyond the vineyards are many small, family-owned farms cultivating everything from cattle to...Read More About Russian River
