The 2009 Merlot is a wine dark in color, high in natural fruit acidity, and full of the complex flavors that accompany ideal ripening. Merlot is enjoying a revival of late, as wine lovers return to the elegant wines that can be produced from this grape. It is, after all, the source of both Chateau Petrus and Chateau Trotanoy, two of the wine world's greatest treasures.
