Napa vs. Sonoma
We're not asking you to choose sides, only to enjoy the wines these neighboring counties have to offer. Accompanying the four outstanding selections, we've included photographer Andy Katz's beautiful book, A Portrait of Napa and Sonoma.
MONDAVI NAPA VALLEY CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Classic Napa Cabernet with flavors and aromas of blackberry, mulberry and cherry, complemented by spicy characters of sage and vanilla and a memorable, structured finish.
FRANCISCAN NAPA VALLEY CHARDONNAY
Rich, ripe and exotic, it strikes a balance of ripe Napa Valley fruit with nuances of sweet oak from barrel fermentation and aging. Use of wild yeast in a portion of the fermentation adds layers of complexity.
RAVENSWOOD SONOMA CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Fragrant cassis, black currant, cherries and spice tones dominate the complex aroma. Palate tastes of ripe cherries and vanilla from the French oak that is never cloying or heavy. The finish is bright, moderately tannic and very refined.
SIMI SONOMA CHARDONNAY
Characterized by its excellent balance, luscious fruit flavors and long, elegant finish. Fully ripe and flavorful fruit with superb concentration. Aged in French oak, silky smooth in texture and accented by topical fruit, pear, spice and toasty oak.
