Nose: Dense, tightly layered nose with hints of chocolate, plum pudding, and licorice
Mouth: Very pure entry on the palate…the fruit that is somewhat timid and plays a minor role in the nose is on full display now. A ripe plum and blackcurrant with a hint of violets (retro-nasal), cola, and an elegant minerality. The increased presence of Syrah in this year's blend no doubt brought added volume and softness to the tannin profile.
