Inviting aromas of black cherry and thyme deliver a wine with rich flavors of blackberry jam, nutmeg and dark fruit. The addition of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot add great complexity to this Merlot. The blend was aged in small oak cooperage to polish the soft tannins and complement the finish with a sweet toastiness.
Barbecued meats and vegetables are a natural with this Merlot. Try marinated tri-tip or your choice cut of fresh red meat. Drizzle olive oil on your favorite vegetables, sprinkle with sea salt and add them to the grill.
"Here's a good, robust red wine. It's not particularly Merlot-like, with its pepper, herb, cherry, red currant and cola flavors, wrapped into sticky tannins. But it's very dry and elegantly structured, and the alcohol is moderate. fine with a nice steak or chop."
