winemaker's notes:

Approximately 15% of the grapes in Murphy-Goode 2005 Liar's Dice Zinfandel came from the Dry Creek Valley which adds in flavors of spice and black raspberries. The wine was aged 14 months in French and American oak barrels.

"Mouthwatering aromas of perfectly ripe, dark fruits – black cherries, plums and ripe blackberries – foretell the luscious flavors of this Zinfandel. On the palate there is an explosion of fruit."
- Winemaker David Ready, Jr.

This is a very adaptable, food-friendly wine; enjoy it with grilled meats, from burgers to steaks, sausage or lamb kebobs.

"We fully admit to being unaccustomed to finding anything like "polish" in a wine of this size and ripeness, but both polish and balance are the hallmarks of this deeply filled wine. It leads with intense aromas of blackberries, sweet smoke and cream, and it follows up on that promise with rich, well-composed flavors of emphatic fruit. It is firmed by a nice trim of tannins and shows little in the way of intrusive heat despite its 15.8% alcohol. It is withal a fairly serious wine, and it seems certain to improve for another three to five years."

took a long time to open, then again I'm not a HUGE fan of Zins.

This is one of the best Zinfandels I have had in a long time. I highly recommend it. Tastes good with everything!

I would buy this wine again
If you like Red Zins, this is a great bottle for under $20. It is outstanding on the nose and the medium dryness goes perfect with the rich cherry flavors. My wife and I had a bottle with some very good steaks and it was an excellent fit.

Kosher
A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.
Screw Cap wine
Screw Cap
Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
