The 2009 California Chardonnay was created with fruit from cool regions of California. The aromas and flavors of red apple, pear and tropical fruits have streaks of lemon creme with nice minerality and hints of vanilla. This is an approachable Chardonnay, yet richly textured, while retaining a balance of integrated fruit and sweet toasty oak.
Food Pairing: I'm still a huge fan of Bacon-Wrapped Scallops with a glass of Chardonnay although sometimes all you need is a comfy chair or lively conversation to pair with your Chardonnay.
