Winemaker, Mike Dobrovic is known as South Africa's Mr. Sauvignon Blanc, and for good reason. Pale straw with a green tinge. Packed with flinty gooseberry and a touch of citrus – yet maintaining its complex character of grassiness and nettle. This powerful and concentrated wine has become a trademark of Mulderbosch. Serve at 12-15ºC. Serve with fresh asparagus; char-grilled artichokes; oysters; grilled line fish and shellfish; calamari; smoked salmon; seafood paella; chicken à la king; and oven baked goat's milk cheese.

I love this wine. If you like citrusy, grassy strong sauvignon blancs, on the first sip, you will reflexively think "delicious." The flavor is anything but subtle--it's a very full-bodied wine. It accompanied a salmon with dill dish last night and it was perfect. I have also had it with stuffed artichokes previously and it was divine.

I really enjoy sauvignon blancs, but my husband is more of a red drinker. He doesn't like the acidity of whites. This wine is great because it has little acidity, but isn't sweet. One of my favorite blancs!

I'm a big fan of this producer and of South African wines in general. However, the last tasting of the '07 Sauvignon Blanc didn't show well. Typical zesty finish with hints of honey dew melon and gooseberries--but the overwhelming nose of raw green peppers coupled with a slightly unbalanced palate. I enjoy the 'green' notes in many new-world sauvignon blanc, but there wasn't enough fruit notes to provide balance.
