A scintillating deep garnet red. Highly expressive black fruit at first, especially blackberry, with touches of toast and fine spice, then more complex fresh fruit aromas especially cherry and red currant, that burst from the glass. Particularly supple and round on the attack, displaying an attractive harmony between silky tannins and the freshness of the fruit on the nose. A hedonistic wine, succulent and richly flavored, ending on a generous and and pleasant, fruit-filled finish.
Pair with rib steak with shallots, veal chest, duck and lamb chops.
This is a quaffable, pleasant, TABLE red. I buy it, in quantity, because I like it. If you are looking for some remarkable extraordinary wine to sooth your over-heated snobish palate...look elsewhere. That said, this is a wine to be quaffed young and in perfectly fine, even great for everyday drinking. I have purchased this label a lot over the years, and I am not disappointed - just understand what you are buying.
Nothing like the ad said it was. Tried two bottles with same results. I can get much better Bordeaux for the same or less money.
The nose has hints of blackberry, raisin, black cherry, black currant, and earth tones. This wine has a smooth light red color. all around this wine is smooth. taste of cherry, spice, stone, plum, blackberry, black currant, red currant. This wine has a bold Merlot taste with hints of cab franc throughout. The tannins are soft, which makes this an everyday value wine. Definitely a wine to have with dinner.
Horrible overwhelming and not good for anything.
