The Clockspring Zinfandel incorporates some of the younger plantings on the property resulting in moderate alcohol, but it still exhibits the unique depth of flavor, color and structure akin to Amador Zinfandel. The classic ripe varietal berry and black plum flavors as well as the "port-like" aromas are evident in this release. Extended aging in American oak barrels averaging 14 months has softened the harsh tannins, and a "moderate" alcohol level for the region enhances drinkability.
