Mount Veeder Winery Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1997
Red Wine
from Napa Valley, California
winemaker's notes:
Mount Veeder was the first winery in California to recognize the unique complexity achieved by blending Cabernet Sauvignon with the four other traditional Bordeaux varieties, all five of which grow on the Mount Veeder estate. The Mount Veeder Reserve is a most elegant statement of this winemaking philosophy. Crafted from small lots of exceptionally concentrated fruit from some of the oldest vines on the property, this distinctive red wine is the essence of power and finesse.
APPEARANCE: Dark, garnet red.
AROMA: Rich aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and plum, layered with cocoa and vanilla. FLAVOR: Blackberry/cherry fruit interwoven with the characteristic fruit intensity of Mount Veeder wines. Richly textured with notes of chocolate, leather and spice. Full fruit and big, yet supple tannins.
VARIETAL COMPOSITION: 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec, 8% Petit Verdot
