Mount Veeder Winery Reserve Red 2003
Bordeaux Red Blends
from Napa Valley, California
winemaker's notes:
Mount Veeder was the first winery in California to have one vineyard planted to
all five Bordeaux varietals. The Mount Veeder Reserve is an elegant statement of
the winemaking philosophy that blending creates a wine more than the sum of its
parts. Crafted from small lots of exceptionally concentrated fruit from our three
ranches, this distinctive red wine is the essence of power and finesse.
Varietal Composition: 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot
Appearance: Dark garnet red
Aroma: Concentrated plum, tobacco, coffee and cocoa layered with rich plum, black fruit and subtle hints of anise.
Taste and Texture: Rich and full-bodied. Notes of coffee, plum and
vanilla fill the mouth and lead to ripe and
supple tannins on the lengthy finish.
